Para verificar se o tetr\u00f3xido de \u00f3smio foi completamente neutralizado, colocar um peda\u00e7o de papel de filtro embebido em <a href=\"https:\/\/www.em-grade.com\/product\/osmium-waste-neutralizer\/\"><strong>\u00f3leo de milho<\/strong><\/a> sobre a solu\u00e7\u00e3o. O escurecimento do papel de filtro indica que o tetr\u00f3xido de \u00f3smio ainda est\u00e1 presente e que \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio adicionar mais \u00f3leo de milho. O \u00f3leo de milho e a solu\u00e7\u00e3o de tetr\u00f3xido de \u00f3smio devem ser eliminados como res\u00edduos qu\u00edmicos perigosos.<br \/>\n5 &#8211; As solu\u00e7\u00f5es de sulfureto de s\u00f3dio ou de sulfito de s\u00f3dio tamb\u00e9m reduzem as solu\u00e7\u00f5es aquosas de tetr\u00f3xido de \u00f3smio a uma forma menos perigosa.
