Description
Lanthanum(III) nitrate
Rare earth salts, lanthanide family, used as a contrast agent in electron microscopy.
- It is used to label and trace extra- or pericellular spaces (on sections or combined with a fixative).
- It can be mixed with an aldehyde fixative (see protocols).
Also effective in negative staining for 1 to 2 minutes (more details in the protocol).
